Washington County Community foundation awards over $3,000 in fall grants

WASHINGTON, Kan.— During its fall grant cycle, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded over $3,000 to four projects throughout Washington County. The following organizations received funding:

Pawnee Mental Health Services, Inc., $1,500 to support the cost for four Washington County children with Serious Emotional Disturbances to participate in Pawnee Mental Heath’s annual S.T.A.R.S. Camp.
Linn Community Nursing Home, $639 to purchase and install an Automated External Defibrillator.
Washington County Senior Citizens Services, $789 to replace outdated equipment in the Friendly Corners kitchen.
USD 108, $500 to continue the “Snack from the Start” program.

This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors and environments.
