Community foundation announces spring grant recipients

The Washington County Community Foundation recently awarded $13,105 in spring grants to 12 charitable community projects in Washington County.

Grants were awarded from the Clifton Community Fund, Hanover Community Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Fund, Washington County Opportunity Fund and the Buckshot and Christine Buchanan Donor Advised Fund.

The following organizations received funding:

  • City of Hanover/Hanover Park PRIDE, $2,506.42 to build a handicap-accessible sidewalk at Vets Park.
  • Morrowville Community Center, $1,548 for new chairs for the community center.
  • Washington County Fair Association, $1,538 for new chairs for the Washington County Fairgrounds.
  • City of Clifton-New Beautification Committee, $1,400 for new street signs for the city of Clifton.
  • City of Greenleaf, $1,226 for restroom upgrades in City Park.
  • KSDS, Inc., $1,034 to purchase supplies for puppy kits, which go to puppy raisers.
  • St. John’s School, $1,008.58 for Google Chromebooks for grades 1-2.
  • Washington County, $985 to purchase an AED for the Washington County Courthouse.
  • St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, $650 for educational technology upgrades at St. Mary in Clifton.
  • USD 223, $509 for outdoor play equipment for the Barnes TLEC Preschool.
  • City of Clifton, $400 for the purchase of a digital display sign in front of City Hall.
  • Clifton Public Library, $300 to support the summer reading program.
