Community foundation accepting fall grant applications

WASHINGTON, Kan.— The Washington County Community Foundation is accepting applications for fall grants. Online applications open August 1 and are due October 1, 2020.

Recently, to support the Hanover Hospital’s exercise program for the residents, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded the organization funding to purchase various exercise equipment and videos.

“This project has been extremely beneficial to our residents by helping them improve strength and range of motion,” said grantee Brittni Oehmke. “This has allowed them to maintain independence and ability to complete activities of daily living. We use this equipment one-on-one with individuals and in group activities. The residents enjoy the options of getting together for group activities or working one-on-one. We are very thankful to be able to offer these services in order to improve the lives of those we serve.”

This year, $3,000 in grant funding is available for charitable community improvement projects within the Washington County area. Grants will fund local community projects that support the public health of Washington County.

Funding for the fall grant cycle is provided by the Kansas Health Foundation.

Grants are limited to communities in Washington County and will be awarded through a competitive application process. Nonprofit organizations, government and public entities, educational institutions and churches are encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on October 1. Detailed grant criteria and application instructions are available online at www.washingtoncountycf.org/search-apply-for-a-grant.
