Community Foundation awards over $19,000 in grants!

Washington County Community Foundation awards over $19,000 in spring grants
WASHINGTON, Kan.— During its spring grant cycle, the Washington County Community Foundation awarded over $19,000 to ten projects throughout Washington County. The following organizations received funding:

  • Hadden Community Club, Inc.: $1,300 to help in the purchase of a freezer and food prep cooler.
  • KSDS, Inc.: $750 to purchase flowers, buffalo grass and flag poles.
  • Clifton Public Library: $500 to purchase books, snacks and crafts for the children participating in the Summer Reading Program.
  • Morrowville Community Center: $3,800 to purchase a commercial range.
  • Morrowville Fire Dept.: $6,000 for purchase of bunker gear for their firemen.
  • Hanover Hospital: $2,885.68 for a pergola set, concrete and benches.
  • Hanover Public Library: $1,028.64 for a new exterior book return for patron convenience.
  • USD 223: $520.86 for Blackstone grills and accessories.
  • City of Clifton: $1,000 to purchase see-saw equipment and concrete for the park.
  • City of Morrowville: $1,432.50 to redo, replace, and reset street signs throughout Morrowville.

This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Washington County Opportunity Fund, which supports the quality of life for Washington County; the Hanover Community Fund, which supports the present and future needs of Hanover, Kansas; and the Clifton Community Fund, which supports the present and future needs of Clifton, Kansas.
